Maternity Cover

Temporary Contract from September 2020

We are looking for a friendly, inspiring and well motivated teacher to join our brilliant KS1 team with effect from September 2020.  Applications are welcome from all qualified teachers, ideally with at least 1 year of experience.

We are looking for someone that shares our ethos of growing and learning together, with the passion, creativity and energy to deliver a stimulating curriculum for our children that is both engaging, challenging and fun.

The role is in line with the school teachers pay and conditions. You would work with our fantastic team supporting development for all children as well as colleagues across the school.

We would usually welcome all potential applicants to come and have a look around our school prior to application to see for themselves the environment, children and team that we are so proud of. However due to the current Coronavirus situation this is not possible and interviews will take place via zoom. After the interview the successful candidate will have the opportunity to look around the school (which may have to be a weekend to reduce contact with staff and children).

The application form can be downloaded from www.kent.teach.com.

We do welcome early applications which will be considered upon request and interviews may be brought forward. Interviews will be held virtually. Further details will be provided to successful candidates.

Information about the school

At St. George's Church of England Primary School we value each pupil as an individual and ensure that they reach their full potential by 'Letting their light shine' (Matthew 5:16) through our Christian Values of Respect, Honesty, Courage, Kindness, Forgiveness and Hope. By Bringing Faith and Education Together; we aspire for all our children to become confident, secure, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning. They are supported to develop morally, spiritually, socially, culturally and academically.

We are very proud of our warm and welcoming school with its friendly, caring atmosphere; enthusiastic children; experienced and dedicated staff and supportive parents and governors. We have high expectations of the children's achievements and behaviour and the children have high expectations of themselves.

The school does extremely well in providing support and encouragement for our most vulnerable children. Children feel safe and well cared for and are positive and happy to be here. We are lucky to have extensive grounds allowing opportunities for creative and engaging lessons to be planned.

In December 2022 Ofsted described the school as a Good school; where staff feel motivated and valued. They love working in the school and speak highly of the support and professional development leaders provide. Parents and carers also greatly value the school. The comment of one parent that ‘My child is very fortunate to be part of this wonderful school,’ was typical of the views of many parents who submitted comments during the inspection survey.

St George's (VC) CE Primary school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
