£14,646 per annum (SAT Band 3)

An opportunity has arisen for a candidate to join our science team as a science technician.

This post is for 35 hours per week, over 5 days. Term time only, plus 5 staff training days plus an additional 10 days to be worked during the holidays.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for ensuring that a safe, effective and efficient laboratory technical service is provided for use by students and teaching staff.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance in the classroom to support students and to assist teaching staff.
  • Coordinate the use and development of practical resources and facilities within the science department.
  • Assist the head of department in the line management of all science technicians including their induction, training and performance management.
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements and other relevant regulations are in place and adhered to, including the completion and recording of necessary tasks.
