Reception Class Teacher and Early Years Lead

Are you an experienced EYFS Foundation Stage Teacher ready for the step up into an exciting leadership role at Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School. Have you the vision, commitment and enthusiasm to help us develop and deliver the best early years provision for every child in our Reception Class and Nursery provision.

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is a happy, inclusive school with a strong family ethos and strong team commitment to improving the outcomes and aspirations of all our children. We are looking for a committed, experienced and enthusiastic EYFS teacher with Nursery education experience, who will work in partnership with the Headteacher and SLT to promote continuous improvement.

The role would be class based in our Reception Class with leadership of the whole EYFS Phase (3yrs to 5yrs). There are 30 children in Reception and approx. 45 on role in our Nursery with a maximum of 26 children per session. Time is given for leadership duties and team meetings. Bishops Down EYFS is housed in a separate purpose built building with an expansive outdoor play area.

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
