Due to a recent change in staffing, we are looking for a highly skilled Teaching Assistant to join our excellent staff team as soon as possible. The position is initially temporary until 31st August 2020; with a possibility of a contract extension depending on the number of SEN pupils remaining in the school. The position is for 30 hours per week working five days, including 30 minutes daily lunch duty, hours are from 8.30am to 3.00pm, contracts will be calculated on staff working for 39 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will be working in a Year 5 class You will work primarily in the classroom alongside the class teacher or leading small groups on specific learning targets. You would also be expected to encourage the appropriate behaviour and attitude to enable the most effective learning. 

Experience of working with children in an educational setting is required along with - good English and Mathematical skills - flexibility and use of initiative - strong communication skills - experience of working with children who have Additional Educational Needs - the ability to work alongside different colleagues - patience and understanding of the way different children learn - commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Castle Hill is a lively two form entry Community Primary School with a Specialist Resource Provision for Hearing Impaired children. We also have responsibility for running a large and thriving Nursery which shares its premises with the Children Centre on our grounds. The school is situated in an urban area of East Folkestone, on a deceptively large site.
