We have a vacancy for a part time Midday Supervisor commencing September 2019. The post is for 6 hours, over 5 days per week (11.50-13.10), 38 weeks per year (term-time only).

The salary is to be paid on Kent Range 3 (FTE £17,365.00 actual annual salary £2,322.18)

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a team and be able to engage effectively with the children, extending them in purposeful activities and enhancing their social skills whilst having fun. You will need excellent communication skills and have the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  1. Supervision of pupils during mealtimes in our school hall. This will include assisting with setting up and packing away of the area. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the pupils, promoting good table manners and standards of behaviour and ensuring a calm and orderly environment. This may involve assisting children with cutlery, crockery etc.
  2. Supervising outdoor play (or in bad weather, the classrooms/school hall). You will be required to utilise the full extent of the playground area to encourage safe and constructive playtime. This includes fully utilising our beautiful playing field, adjacent to the School.
  3. Minimising the risk of playground accidents, but where they do occur, treating the incident in the correct manner, as per our First Aid Policy.
  4. Intervening where appropriate to avoid arguments/unkind behaviour and responding to such situations according to our Behaviour Policy.
