We are seeking to appoint an experienced,enthusiastic, self-motivated and skilled individual to join our busy administration team to fulfil the role of Clerk to the Governors for 10 hours per week, term-time only (working hours to be discussed). The successful candidate will need to be educated to A level standard or equivalent and possess sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and SIMS.net. This post will be paid on the Kent Scheme pay range 6/7 (£20,222-£25,112), pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications.

 

The post holder’s primary responsibility will be to take on the role of Clerk to the Governors and to support the Governing Body and Executive Headteacher in all aspects of this role including liaising with the Chair of Governors and Executive Headteacher to set agendas, clerk meetings, record and produce accurate minutes and ensure statutory policies are in place. They will also be responsible for supporting the Leadership team in the day to day administration of the school including policy management, child protection and exclusions.

 

The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle confidential issues with discretion and awareness of Data Protection. They will also need to be able to work under pressure and use their own initiative.They must also be flexible with working arrangements to ensure attendance at all governor meetings. These usually take place between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on approximately fourteen occasions per year. If necessary, overtime will be paid at the appropriate rate. Extra hours may also be available to support the administration team on an adhoc basis.

 

Previous experience in an education background is desirable but candidates with experience in a legal background may also be suitable. A flexible nature and attention to detail is paramount and a professional attitude is essential.
