Caretaker 20 hours a week (Monday to Friday) including school holidays/closures.

The Governors of St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School are looking to recruit a responsible, friendly, enthusiastic and highly committed caretaker who will ensure that our school is a safe, clean, tidy and secure environment to facilitate effective teaching of our children.

 The post is part-time, with split shifts each day covering 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, including 24 days annual leave, to be taken during school holidays.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a positive and proactive approach to taking care of the school;

  

  • Be responsible for managing the upkeep of the school building and grounds with the ability to work alone using own initiative;

 

  • Be practical, dedicated, highly motivated, hardworking and flexible;

  

  • Be skilful with a proven range of site maintenance skills, including general repairs, cleaning, painting and decorating. Other skills such as plumbing, DIY including carpentry would be advantageous;

  

  • Be able to relate well to adults and children;

  

  • Be an important member of our school team and have a positive approach to this key role.

The school is part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership and is linked to, and collaborates closely with St Margaret Clitherow Primary School in Tonbridge, St Thomas' Primary School in Sevenoaks, with a shared Executive Academy Principal, Mrs Katharine Sexton and Area Business Manager, Mrs Maria Sherring.
