The Trust are looking for a number of Governors to join their Governing Bodies and Academy Committees.

The role of all Governors within our Trust is an important one.  The governance structure within the Trust ensures that the lines of accountability are consistent with the Trust's legal and regulatory requirements and are guided by the Trust's shared vision, strategy and its values.

The Trust are currently looking for;

  • Foundation Governors;
  • Co-Opted Governors;

A Governing Body or Academy Committee is made up of representatives from the Academy (staff governors), the parents (parent governors), foundation governors (appointed by the Archbishop/Education Commission) and Co-Opted Governors (individuals with specific skills sets).

Governors should be able to work as part of team and have the ability to think strategically.   It is not always necessary for Governors to have an education background, other skills such as finance, legal, HR and general business skills can be very valuable additions to a governing body.

Volunteering as a governor is a great way to contribute to your local community, meet new people and improve the lives of local children. You will develop transferable skills and learn more about the education system whilst putting existing skills and experience to good use. Full training is available.

If you are interested in volunteering to be a Governor, you must complete an application form and will have an interview with the Company Secretary and Chair of Governors/Academy Committee.

DBS checks will be undertaken.
