Otford Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to work five afternoons a week - up to 34 hours per week to faciliatate the progress of an individual pupils within our school. Makaton experience is preferable and your duties will include working with a child with Down’s Syndrome in KS1. We are looking for someone who has;

  • Makaton training and experience.
  • experience of working with children with Down’s Syndrome
  • will support and scaffold the child’s learning in and out of the classroom
  • has the ability to make good relationships with children, colleagues and parents
  • will lead interventions for individuals and groups with confidence and initiative
  • is confident to work independently
  • enjoys working as part of a team 
  • holds the minimum qualifications of English and Mathematics GCSEs (A-C) /equivalent.

Otford Primary School is located near Sevenoaks, based in the historic village of Otford. We are a two-form entry school, drawing from the village and immediate surrounding areas with committed staff and parents. We like to maximise links within the village and local community.
