We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with Specialist SEND experience of working with pupils in Early Years to join us working 30.5/31 hours per week, term-time. Initially, this is a Fixed Term contract until 31st August 2019,  subject to review at the end of this period.

Experience of working with children with SEND is paramount to applying for this post.

Candidates should possess at least an NVQ level 2 in supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent along with GCSE grades A to C in Mathematics and English and we also welcome enthusiastic graduates who are considering a career in teaching and who have a minimum of a 2:2 degree, preferably in Mathematics, Science or English.  Candidates from a variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply but experience of Special Educational Needs would be preferred.  

 

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children with SEND.  Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be committed to working as part of an established and highly motivated team to provide stimulating and interesting learning opportunities for pupils with a range of profound, severe and complex needs.  Multi-lingual skills and the ability to offer support to pupils with English as an Additional Language and specific skills and / or qualifications in swimming and minibus driving would also be an advantage.

 

We offer a comprehensive and supportive CPD programme and opportunities to apply for a School Direct placement leading to Qualified Teacher Status.
