Classroom Teacher - 3 days per week teaching a mixed Year 3/4 class

Pay: MPS

We are a school where children are encouraged to develop an inquisitive mind that leads to knowledge, skills and creativity. We operate a creative curriculum where our children learn through ‘experiences’ that they will never forget.

At Borough Green Primary School our children are given the skills and opportunity to flourish and progress in a supportive and nurturing environment. We are looking to appoint a teacher who shares our passion for teaching, is enthusiastic, creative and prepared to work in a way that results in daily positive experiences for our children.

Our ideal teacher will have experience of teaching in KS2, working with mixed year groups and is willing to support the range of additional events that take place throughout the year. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, collaboratively planning topics with colleagues in the same year group.

Strong links are forged with our parents and other stake holders in the community as we believe this promotes confidence and responsibility and will cultivate respect for all, regardless of race, gender, culture or ability.

By encouraging a harmonious atmosphere in the school we have developed a supportive culture among staff and a fantastic feeling of everybody pulling in the same direction.

We are looking for that special person who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, has a sense of humour, has a commitment to raising standards and has the energy and determination to make a difference.

Informal visits are strongly encouraged and recommended. If you are keen to learn more about joining our school, please contact Lorna Isted on 01732 883459.

We look forward to meeting you!

Information about the school

Borough Green Primary School is a Foundation School which means that the school’s Governing Body has greater powers than in community primary schools. For example, the governors employ all school staff, they own the school site, can set certain school policies and have the power to determine the timing of the school year. Consequently, our governors are fully invested in the schoolcaters for children from 4 to 11 years of age with Steps to School, our on-site nursery and pre-school, providing childcare from 3 months and an after school club for our school age children.

Our school has a century’s history of success and is at the heart of the local community. We provide a highly enjoyable experience-based education for children aged 4 to 11 years. We aim for academic excellence but we also recognise the importance of every child’s personal development. Our school ethos is warm, welcoming and inclusive with a very strong family atmosphere that provides a great sense of belonging. Our strong team of staff does all it can to ensure that our children make the most of their innate abilities and potential.

Fundamental to our success is the quality, commitment and teamwork of everyone involved with our school. Whatever their role, our staff are fully committed to supporting our children’s success.

Children need to be: physically and mentally healthy, able to take decisions and deal with any challenges. To achieve this they will require: a range of skills, courage, adaptability and determination. Each child is at the centre of this “Circle of Courage”, which has four elements: Belonging, Mastery, Independence and Generosity.

“unrelenting ambition to secure best possible outcomes for all pupils” Ofsted August 2018

“strong family ethos” and “strongly inclusive culture” Ofsted August 2018

Our school is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and we have good rail and road links being close to both the railway station and M20.
