We can offer you an opportunity to work in our Teaching School, providing outreach across East Kent and we will support you in your leadership journey to become a successful advocate for outstanding Early years practice.

Herne is a wonderful school, with a hardworking and fun loving staff team who enjoy coming to school as much as our children do. We are looking to recruit an experienced practitioner who is:

  • An enthusiastic classroom practitioner committed to a child centred approach to teaching
  • Inspirational and has an imaginative approach to all aspects of teaching and learning
  • Dedicated to excellence, inclusion and raising standards and has high expectations
  • Highly effective at planning, delivering and evaluating lessons
  • Organised with good interpersonal skills
  • Able to foster and maintain positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parent/carers
  • Adept at teaching an exciting and relevant curriculum
  • Able to lead a team, set high expectations and develop the outstanding provision at Herne
  • Engage in professional dialogue, monitoring and mentoring with a variety of colleagues
  • Participate in CPD and commit to leadership qualifications

As an Outstanding Early years setting we have gained National Teaching School status. We firmly believe in collaborative working and are a member of the Canterbury Coastal Alliance, working together with 16 local schools to ensure the sharing of expertise and continuing professional development. We are committed to the development of all of our staff and encourage our teachers to be reflective practitioners dedicated to improving their own learning.
