Turner Schools is looking for a Child in Care Learning Mentor to work with our vulnerable young people and their carers. 

The successful candidate will:-

  • Contribute towards the Trust's vision and ethos;
  • Have patience, emotional resilience and a consistent and calm approach to managing challenging behaviours;
  • Have an understanding of issues around attachment;
  • Enjoy completing their work in a professional and positive manner, relish solving problems and take pride in helping people;
  • Have a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student;
  • Have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity and be able to work under pressure in a professional and confidential manner;
  • Be highly motivated and have a flexible approach towards work and working hours;
  • Have a strong academic track record to degree level and above.

Knowledge and experience of working with external agencies and voluntary groups is desirable.

This position is subject to funding and the contract is fixed term until 31/08/2019.

The working hours for this post are 30 hours per week, term time plus two weeks.
