We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to lead this vital area of school life. The successful candidate will be required to lead and teach PSHE and careers education within the KS3 and KS4 curriculum at Goldwyn Ashford and be responsible for careers education across all Goldwyn Centres as Careers Leader. 

The successful candidate will develop, lead and continually review the School’s Careers Strategy and Policy. In addition the postholder will have an understanding of the implication of CEIAG in terms of meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks. 

The successful candidate will:

  • have a passion for teaching and learning especially within the SEN sector
  • lead the design and implementation of an outstanding PSHE/Careers curriculum and education across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • ensure PSHE and Careers are thriving throughout the school and ensure the highest levels of engagement of all students
  • act as the Careers Leader across all Goldwyn Centres
  • Provide a Level 2 PSHE or Careers qualification at KS4

Goldwyn is an outstanding and unique secondary (11-18) SEMH special school in Kent, operating over 4 sites in Ashford and Folkestone, with each site running its own distinctive educational pathway.

We are a highly regarded and successful school which has expanded its provision to meet the needs of our increasingly complex and vulnerable students.

Following an internal restructuring, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed strategic leader to work with the Principal to maintain the outstanding provision we have created, whilst seeking to develop innovative and exemplary practice within SEMH education.

Goldwyn School is a KCC Foundation Special School for children and young people with an EHCP for SEMH needs from age 11 to 18. Students who are admitted to the school have complex and wide ranging difficulties and come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and a wide geographical area.
