We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team at Loose Primary School and play an integral part in maintaining the ‘ethic of excellence’ that is so important to the school. We are currently advertising for a Site Manager who would be responsible for the day to day management of the site, working alongside leaders and all other staff to secure the very best and safest environment possible for the children. The expected start date would be 1st September 2019.

We wish to appoint someone who is active, versatile, well organised, enthusiastic, reliable and has excellent communication skills. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure. Any general plumbing, electrical or carpentry skills would also be an advantage.

We require self-motivated candidates who will proactively lead the site team, including part-time caretakers and contract cleaners to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the pupils and staff. The successful candidates will report to the School Business Manager.

The work will involve all aspects of caretaking, cleaning and facilities management. The site manager will be expected to coordinate premises work, including drawing up maintenance scheldules and holiday works programmes. The position is physical in nature and includes working outside. You should therefore, be comfortable lifting furniture and equipment to statutory limits although the necessary manual handling training will be provided. Please see the job description and person specification for more information.

The position is permanent working 52 weeks per year with 24 days paid leave plus bank holidays. The normal working pattern is likely to be 35 hours per week but this will be explored further at interview, including the specific daily working hours.

In addition to the hours stated, you there might be required to work some evenings / weekends as agreed, for which payment will be made.

The school is fully committed to the safeguarding of children, therefore all staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check by the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks.

Visits are encouraged by prior arrangement.

Closing date for applications is 08:00 on Tuesday 26th March 2019.
