Due to our continued organisational growth and development we are seeking to appoint a new HLTA to join us. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join the team at Stone Bay School and make a real difference to the lives of our young people. 

We are seeking people who thrive on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment and who are passionate about supporting the development of our exceptional young people. 

The successful applicant will have proven ability to work to their own initiative and be able to;

  • demonstrate an good understanding of the needs of students with ASD and challenging behaviours
  • demonstrate knowledge and competency in approaches to managing challenging behaviours.
  • act as a role model and establish a clear framework for discipline in line with the school’s policies
  • organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and plan teaching and learning objectives to ensure student progress and development
  • collect and input data, as appropriate, in order to monitor individual student progress
  • work collaboratively with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)and other staff groups
  • provide teaching cover for teachers in all areas of the school as and when required
  • attend and contribute, as appropriate, to class, key stage and whole school staff meetings including attendance at teachers’ meetings
  • evidence of wider commitment to the needs of the school, e.g. delivering extracurricular activities, mentoring

We specialise in providing day and residential education for pupils aged 4 to 19 years who have a diagnosis of Autism.
