Our Hextable site is now recruiting a Science Teacher with a Lead Coordinator role for Key Stage 4 (TLR2) due to our expansion.

We are now recruiting for a Science Teacher with the ability to teach up to and including Level 2, Level 3 is desirable, for our Hextable site. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed teacher who relishes in making a difference to children's lives.

Broomhill Bank school is not just a place to teach, but to educate. Through a whole school holistic approach, Broomhill Bank school focuses on both academic and wider skills to prepare and develop every child for their life. 

Broomhill Bank School caters for students aged 11-19 who have communication and interaction difficulties, often related to autism. With class sizes of 10 and additional adult support, we tailor our curriculum and classroom delivery to the individual needs of the student. Our students make good progress as a result of high quality teaching.

We welcome applicants from teachers at any stage of their career, from mainstream or special education, and from newly qualified teachers. As we provide a programme of specialist training for all new members of staff, in addition of our ongoing CPD programme.

Information about the school

Broomhill Bank School is a co-educational Foundation Special School for students with Communication and Interaction needs who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Our educational provision is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and our residential provision is rated ‘Outstanding’. We work to prepare our students for life, through academic achievement, therapeutic provision to ensure their well-being and by being part of the wider community.

There are two sites. Broomhill Bank West is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells. Broomhill Bank North is in Hextable near Swanley. Our North site has bespoke residential provision and semi-independent living accommodation.

Students are taught in small classes of 8-10 according to level of need, with lessons led by subject specialist teachers. We facilitate students to learn as independently as possible. Across Key Stage 4 and 5 students can undertake a variety of accredited qualifications including GCSE, Entry Level and Functional Skills. Our Sixth Form focuses students on preparation for life so that alongside academic achievement they can develop the life and work-related skills which will be vital to their future independence and self-sufficiency. We are looking for applicants who share in our philosophy of lifelong learning and developing the potential of each individual.
