Do you have experience preparing and serving meals and would enjoy catering for up to 60 children?

Lady Boswell’s C. E. (Aided) Primary School is a Church school. We are a caring and committed team, where the rights and responsibilities of pupils, staff and parents are valued.

We are looking for a Cook to work in our after school club. The successful applicant will be required to work 12.5 hours per week (3.15pm – 5.45pm Monday to Friday, term time only). Meals are prepared on site and served at 4.45pm.

The salary will be Kent Range 4 £17,189 - £18,058 full time equivalent (£4,789 - £5,031 pro rata).

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Be experienced in ordering ingredients, preparing and serving food (essential)
  • Be able to work in a school kitchen, using catering equipment and leave the environment clean after every session (essential)
  • Have a desire to serve good quality food to children, in line with government legislation
  • Be someone who enjoys working with children
  • Have or be prepared to gain relevant qualifications e.g. Level 2 Award in Food Safety
  • Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative
  • Be prepared to work both independently and within a team
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Have good organisational skills

Information about the school

Set on the edge of the beautiful Knole Park Estate in Sevenoaks, Lady Boswell’s Primary School has a strong sense of history, having been established in 1675. We are a Christian school which provides a safe and happy haven that allows every child to develop and learn in a kind and caring environment whilst achieving the highest academic standards.

Although established in 1675, our building is much newer, with the latest part completed around 2013.
