We are looking for a part time Teaching Assistant who will be required to support a child who has Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs.

The post is 24 hours and 40 minutes over four days. Starting at 8.45am - 3.25pm with half and hour for lunch. Kent Range 3.

Starting as soon as possible.

 

Previous experience of assisting children with SEN would be an advantage but training can be provided to the suitable candidate. The successful applicant will be committed to our high expectations and ethos of providing excellent quality learning opportunities, creative ideas and inspirational teaching.

You will be required to work over the school lunchtime period as part of the Mid-Day Supervisor team and be responsible for pupils including supervising play with peers, behaviour management, encouraging eating;

You will be required to support toilet training if necessary- changing clothes and personal care.

We require staff who have:

  • A clear understanding of Special Educational Needs and a strong sense of the importance of inclusion;
  • Previous experience of working with children in schools;
  • Previous experience of supporting children with speech and language needs and/or ASD would be an advantage;
  • The ability to work as part of a job-share;
  • High standards of work ethic and able to show initiative- proactively adapting to any situation that can arise;
  • The ability to form positive professional relationships with children, staff and parents;
  • The enthusiasm, self-motivation and team spirit to join our friendly school;
  • A minimum of Grade C GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths;
  • Will support the inclusive ethos of the school;
  • Good command of spoken ‘standard’ English;
  • A commitment to professional development and an expectation to undertake training related to this role;
  • High standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional standards and team work;
