We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, dedicated and supportive team in EYFS. Candidates should ideally have experience of working in this key stage and have an understanding of the EYFS Framework and Development Matters.

Paediatric first aid training will be provided if the candidate does not already have the qualification. Kings Hill School has two classes of 30 in EYFS and although the post will be primarily based in one class, there will be an expectation to work across all of the Foundation Stage as a team.

The successful applicant will be required to work 32.5 hours per week (8.30am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only 38 weeks a year). This post is at Kent Range 3 which is between £15,628 and £17,188 (FTE)

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have experience of working with younger children including those with SEND and EAL
  • Be someone who enjoys working with children supporting the curriculum in a free-flow indoor and outdoor environment.
  • Have relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ3 / Level 3 Teaching Assistant, NNEB) or relevant experience
  • Be able to run small intervention groups to support children with additional needs (i.e. Speech & Language, PSHE).
  • Be able to deliver to small groups and support the class teacher with Phonics.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of good early years practice
  • Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and interested in moving on children’s learning
  • Have good interpersonal skills and organisational skills
  • Have an interest in celebrating children's learning by classroom display
  • Support the ethos and wider life of the school
