Northfleet Nursery School's Governing Body are seeking to appoint a motivated Clerk to support them at this 4 TIMES OUTSTANDING Nursery School.

 

The Clerk will be accountable to the Governing Body and will work closely along side the Chair of Governors, Headteacher and Office Manager. Additional support will be available from the existing Clerk should it be beneficial to the successful candidate.

 

Duties will include:

  • Providing an effective administration of the Governing Body by preparing the agenda and associated paperwork. 
  • Advising the Governing Body on constitutional and procedural matters
  • To convene meetings of the Governing Body
  • To attend meetings of the Governing Body and ensure accurate minutes are taken and distributed
  • To mainain a register of business interests
  • To maintin a register of members and report vacancies to the governing body
  • To give and receive notices in accordance with relevant regulations
  • To perform such other funtions as may be determinded by the governing body fom time to time
  • To follow up decisions and actions agreed at meetings
  • Maintain a register of attendance 
  • To attend appropriate training 

Skills required:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative with good time management skills. Must be able to work to deadlines.
  • Good record keeping
  • Ability to cascade relevant information to other partners
  • Good interpersonal skills

The post is for 110 hours per annum and the salary will be within KR6 pay scale- £19609-£21509 (pro-rata)

Six Full Governing Body Meetings are held each school term, for approximately 2-3 hours per meeting, with occasional extra meetings as and when required. Some of these meeting may be held after school hours

Northfleet Nursery School has been graded Outstanding 5 consecutive times and is the only stand–alone maintained Nursery School funded by Kent County Council. We have a school PAN of 93 and take admissions from the local community in Northfleet and the surrounding area. The nursery uses the High/Scope approach which actively involves the children in exploring and learning about things that are important to children in the early years.
