We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed teacher to join our outstanding Special School from January 2023 or sooner, working within our sixth form provision (based at the LINK Centre at North Kent College).  

The successful candidate will be an exceptional qualified teacher with excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience of teaching English and Maths and a passion for working with children with SEND.

Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and be committed to working as part of an established and highly motivated team to provide stimulating and interesting learning opportunities for pupils with a range of profound, severe and complex learning needs.

Applications are welcome from teachers who may already be working in a Special School and from those currently working in a mainstream Secondary School or college.

A BACKGROUND IN SEND AND IN PARTICULAR PMLD, SLD OR ASD IS PARAMOUNT IN APPLYING FOR THIS POST.

Ifield is a Foundation District Special School for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning needs and communication and interaction difficulties from age four to nineteen. Ifield School has a dynamic and innovative staff who work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success. Inclusion is one of our priorities and this is achieved through our outreach, resources and training centre, Ifield SMILE.

In November 2023, Ofsted judged Ifield as an outstanding school for the fourth consecutive time.

Ifield was designated a National Teaching School in September 2014 and is committed to the development of the Thames Teaching Alliance for the remainder of its tenure.

Ifield School is one of the founding members of KsENT, a co-operative trust for Kent Special Schools.

In September 2015, Ifield School federated with King's Farm Primary School under one Governing Body collectively known as the Cedar Federation.
