Dover Christ Church Academy is a vibrant fast-paced Academy on a strong trajectory of improvement, our value added in 2012 shifted from 946 to 1007. Under new leadership we have secured EFA approval for a 10.5 million pound new build and significant refurbishment. This will provide students with state of the art vocational facilities alongside an inspirational learning environment throughout. 
This appointment will be very significant in the next stage of the Academy’s journey to excellence. To support our vision of academic excellence, we are seeking an inspirational leader and teacher of English. Your strong leadership will promote the achievement of all pupils and will support, celebrate and challenge the practice of staff in your department, the Academy and the wider educational community.
The appointed person will be:
•	A champion for English and literacy across the Academy and department.
•	A focused leader who is driven to achieve the highest possible standards and address underachievement at all levels with energy, urgency and enthusiasm.
•	Able to innovate so as to ensure that all students achieve their potential.
•	Able to inspire others, both staff and students.
•	Able to demonstrate highly successful outcomes for students s/he has taught.
•	Fully committed to further professional development of all members of the team.
