The school’s catering provision has changed radically during the past two years to reflect the vision of the School Food Trust – 'To transform school food and food skills, promote the education and health of children and young people and improve the quality of food in schools'. In continuing this commitment we are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to work under the supervision of the Catering/Nutrition Manager. Ideally, this post would be suitable for an established caterer with some experience of working in school catering, although training would be available to support professional development. As our newly appointed Assistant Catering Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen, to include deputising for the Catering/Nutrition Manager, Line Management responsibility and ensuring compliance with relevant H&S and food hygiene requirements. For an information pack and application form, please contact, Amanda Thomas on 01322 662937 or email secretary@furness.kent.sch.uk

Information about the school

Following our recent Ofsted inspection we are pleased to announce that we are out of Special Measures and have been judged as ‘Requires Improvement’ overall with Leadership and Management rated as ‘Good’. It was also noted that much of the teaching ‘is now good’, with parents speaking ‘warmly of the support they and their children have received from the school’.

The school itself is set in extensive and beautiful grounds within a small village, holding a positive relationship within the local community and is easily accessible from the A2/M2 and M20 via major roads.
