Advert

Tiger Primary School has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, working 37 hours per week: 8.00am–4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am–3.30pm on Friday. This is a fixed-term role, working 38 weeks per year plus an additional five days.

We are looking for a motivated, committed and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Tiger family. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly and hardworking team within a school determined to achieve the highest standards for all its pupils.

The majority of the role will involve covering classes across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The successful applicant will be confident leading whole-class learning, delivering and adapting planned lessons, managing behaviour and maintaining established classroom routines. They will also be expected to mark pupils’ work and speak to parents where necessary.

When not covering classes, the HLTA will be deployed flexibly to support year groups and teachers through targeted interventions and in-class support. Experience of working across EYFS and both key stages is therefore highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be able to work effectively under direction while also using their own initiative. They will build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents, and demonstrate patience, care and respect for every child.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold GCSE qualifications, or equivalent, in English and mathematics.
  • Have experience of leading whole-class learning.
  • Be confident in managing behaviour and communicating professionally with parents.
  • Be motivated, flexible and able to use their own initiative.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and value every child.
  • Be a positive and consistent role model for our pupils.

We can offer you:

  • A happy and friendly team whose members work collaboratively and support one another.
  • Professional development opportunities to support your career progression.
  • Children who will make you smile every day.
  • A strong and supportive local community, including governors and parents.

Please note that interviews may take place before the advert closing date. To avoid disappointment, please follow the link and apply at your earliest convenience. The applications will close at 12:00pm on Friday 4th September 2026.
