Join Our Pastoral Team – Pastoral Support Assistant

This isn’t just a job. It’s a commitment to changing lives.

Are you the kind of person who refuses to give up on young people? Can you stay calm when others can’t? Laugh in the middle of chaos? Celebrate the smallest victories because you know just how hard they were earned?

If yes, keep reading.

We’re looking for an exceptional Pastoral Support Assistant to join our incredible team in our SEMH school.

We’re a fiercely supportive, relentlessly passionate team that is completely committed to our students. We laugh together, problem-solve together, and stand shoulder to shoulder on the toughest days. No two days are ever the same.

Working in pastoral support within an SEMH setting isn’t for the faint-hearted. You’ll meet young people who have experienced significant trauma, loss and adversity. Their behaviour is often a form of communication, and your role will be to look beyond the surface to understand what they really need.

Some days you’ll be calming a crisis. Some days you’ll be celebrating a student making it through a lesson they couldn’t face last week. Some days you’ll be the trusted adult who changes the direction of a young person’s life. Those moments matter.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate without lowering expectations.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Resilient and emotionally intelligent.
  • A great communicator with a good sense of humour.
  • Able to build genuine, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Passionate about helping students achieve more than they ever thought possible.
  • A team player who believes that no one succeeds alone.

In return, you'll join a pastoral team that genuinely has each other's backs—working hard, supporting one another, celebrating successes, and never losing sight of why we do this work.

This role will challenge you. It will stretch you. It will inspire you. And if you're the right person, it will be one of the most rewarding jobs you'll ever have.

If you're looking for an easy ride, this probably isn't for you. If you're looking for purpose, challenge, laughter, teamwork and the chance to make a real difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Previous safeguarding experience is desirable but not essential - training is provided. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident working within safeguarding procedures, including transporting students when required.

Come and join a team that doesn't just support students - we believe in them, champion them, and help them build brighter futures.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early and proceed to interview upon receipt of a number of suitably qualified applications. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

Infiniti School will conduct an online check of shortlisted candidates in line with the Keeping Children Safe In Education guidelines.
