We are seeking to appoint a full time (37 hours per week) 40 weeks per year (Term Time plus 10 days), Catering Manager at Rainham Mark Grammar School.  The successful candidate will be an experienced and motivated Catering Manager who will lead and develop our school catering service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals for students and staff. They will oversee menu planning, manage food provision in line with school nutrition standards, maintain stock levels and budgets, and ensure all dietary and allergy requirements are safely and effectively catered for.

You will lead and support the catering team, managing staff rotas, performance, training and wellbeing to ensure an efficient and positive working environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and health and safety across kitchen and dining facilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and school policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in promoting and maintaining high standards of student behaviour and conduct within the dining areas, reinforcing school expectations and contributing to a positive dining experience for all;
  • Managing catering budgets, purchasing and stock control to ensure cost-effective service delivery;
  • Supervising catering operations and maintaining quality standards;
  • Supporting recruitment, induction and training of catering staff;
  • Ensuring safeguarding responsibilities and school policies are upheld;
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the catering service.
