We are seeking a dedicated individual who is eager to further their own development and deeply committed to nurturing the growth of the young children entrusted to our care. Your ambition and passion for early years education will be central to supporting our vision.

Are you prepared to go above and beyond in your role? Can you discover imaginative and innovative approaches to learning? Do you recognise how crucial it is to establish a strong foundation in early education, ensuring that all subsequent learning is built upon solid ground?

Our setting follows a Wandlerlust curriculum, inspired by Hygge principles and closely connected to nature and the changing seasons. The children spend considerable time outdoors throughout the year, engaging in experiential play and interaction. This is complemented by more traditional classroom-based activities, providing a well-rounded learning offer.

This role involves

  • collaboration with the class teacher, feeding into planning and enabling ideas to be bounced around to co-create the best offer possible for the children.
  • being creative with interactive provocations and displays, activities and interventions where children are finding something more challenging
  • role modelling a calm, connected, engaging and curious attitude for the children
  • monitoring and assessing, being proactive in finding ways to stimulate and be the catalyst for their progress.
  • risk assessment and the practical setting up and putting away of activities and equipment each day
  • a willingness to learn, grow and adapt, as our EYFS offer is a little different to that found in many other settings
  • enjoying being part of a team that is innovative, creative and kind
  • being part of a school where we want to ensure that differences are celebrated and diversity is a strength

If this sounds like a match for you, we would love to hear from you. Visits to the EYFS are encouraged; it would be great to meet you!

Information about the school

We are proud of our fabulous one-form entry primary school, which serves the community of Westerham, a charming market town in Kent. The school, which is situated in amazing grounds, attained Ofsted Good and Outstanding gradings in May 2025, and is continuing to grow from strength to strength.

We provide a safe and caring environment for our children where they can thrive, whilst promoting Christian and British values. Naturally the children are considered to be our greatest asset, which ensures they are at the heart of our strategic and operational decision making. The school fosters an ethos where our pupils are keen to learn, well-behaved and a joy to teach. We encourage their development into caring and socially minded individuals, who value diversity and inclusion and who actively support the local community and beyond with initiatives; supporting the local food bank and a variety of local charities are just two examples.

Our collective behaviours, teaching and decision-making are underpinned by our vision and core values; all of which ensure a well-founded and consistent approach in everything we do.

We have strong links with St Mary’s Church Westerham and participate in the many activities aligned with the religious calendar, which draws us closer to the community as a whole. A team from the church regularly lead our worship, providing guidance to ensure that Christian worship and distinctiveness are an integral part of the school.

The school has a breakfast club and after school club which can be used by staff.
