The Duke of York’s Royal Military School is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to support the day-to-day delivery of maintenance and facilities services across our 150-acre estate. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, compliant and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance and facilities team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • Monitor the quality of completed works and carry out inspections where required.
  • Oversee the Facilities Helpdesk, ensuring maintenance requests are prioritised and resolved effectively.
  • Maintain and monitor caretaker call-out arrangements and emergency response procedures.
  • Support compliance with health and safety legislation, statutory inspections, and maintenance regulations.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure the correct use of PPE and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, compliance, contractor, and asset records using digital systems.
  • Support the development of digital maintenance, compliance, and reporting systems to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate contractors and facilities projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with staff supervision, resource planning, budget control, and the overall operation of the School estate, deputising when required.

Further Information

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible. The salary for this role is within DOYRMS Band 8, ranging from £37,061 to £42,386 per annum, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Established in 1803 by His Royal Highness Frederick, Duke of York, The Duke of York's Royal Military School has a rich history rooted in educating the children of military personnel. Originally located in Chelsea, the School relocated to its current site in Dover, Kent, in 1909.
