We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and dedicated SENCo Assistant to support our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in delivering high-quality provision for pupils with additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support to the SENCo
  • Produce accurate reports, letters, and documentation relating to SEND provision
  • Maintain and update student records and databases
  • Liaise effectively with external professional services, parents/carers, and school staff
  • Support the organisation of meetings, reviews, and documentation (e.g. EHCP processes)
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking pupil progress data
  • Manage correspondence, including drafting emails and communications
  • Suppot SEND pupils as directed by SENCO.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Good standard of education (including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent keyboard skills with the ability to produce clear, professional reports and communications
  • Ability to work independently using initiative, as well as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience liaising with external agencies and working with parents/carers
  • Excellent time management and punctuality

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a school or SEND environment
  • Knowledge of SEND processes and documentation
  • Familiarity with school management information systems (Edukey)

St Thomas More Catholic Primary School is part of the Kent Catholic School’s Partnership Trust. We are a two-form entry primary school with the capacity for 420 children aged between 4-11 years.
