We are seeking a committed, compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a delightful child in Year 2 who has severe and complex needs. This is for a Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 - 3:15pm.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference to a child’s learning, wellbeing and development. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the child both academically and emotionally, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in school life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to meet the child’s complex needs
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
• Implement personalised learning and care plans
• Support communication, engagement and social interaction
• Assist with personal care where required
• Promote a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment

• Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly complex needs (desirable)
• Is patient, resilient, and highly empathetic
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
• Is able to follow guidance and adapt strategies to meet individual needs
• Works effectively as part of a team

Information about the school

Boughton-under-Blean and Dunkirk Methodist Primary school is a one-form entry primary school with up to 210 pupils. We are located just outside Canterbury, close to the M2/A2/Thanet Way motorways, just a few minutes drive from both Canterbury and Faversham.
