We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to support a delightful child who is in Year 2. This 1:1 role is key in ensuring the child is fully included in all aspects of school life. We are therefore, looking for someone who is committed to making a positive difference every day. The vacancy is for a Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 - 3:15pm.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference to a child’s learning, wellbeing and development.

The successful candidate will provide individualised support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The EHCP outlines a range of specialist targets which must be consistently followed and embedded into daily provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs.
  • Deliver and support learning in line with the child’s EHCP targets, working closely with the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Adapt provision flexibly in response to the child’s variable and changing needs.
  • Ensure the child can access and participate in all school activities, promoting inclusion at all times.
  • Provide constant supervision and support to keep the child safe and to assist them in navigating the school environment.

  • Will be nurturing, patient, and kind, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Can demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness, adapting their approach as needs change.
  • Will be proactive, calm, and able to promote a sense of security and wellbeing.
  • Will work effectively as part of a team, communicating well with staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

Information about the school

Boughton-under-Blean and Dunkirk Methodist Primary school is a one-form entry primary school with up to 210 pupils. We are located just outside Canterbury, close to the M2/A2/Thanet Way motorways, just a few minutes drive from both Canterbury and Faversham.
