Early Years Teaching Assistant - Part-time - 3-4 Days per Week (FTE 0.6 - 0.8)

We are looking for a highly efficient, flexible, friendly and reliable Teaching Assistant to join our school. This position is for three or four days a week (Wednesday,Thursday and Friday (with the option of another day), 8.30am to 3.30pm, 38 weeks of the year (term-time only).

We currently have a vacancy for a highly efficient Teaching Assistant to assist and support children with their learning in Year R and KS1. We are looking for a competent Teaching Assistant who preferably has relevant experience supporting children within EYFS. You will need to be energetic, supportive and a positive team player with a sense of humour and excellent communication skills. You may also be required to assist other pupils both in and outside of the classroom setting, in accordance with the teacher's planning. You will need to be willing to contribute to the wellbeing of children in our lovely school.

The ideal candidate will be a well organised practitioner who is able to use their own initiative and also be able to work as part of a team. You will be flexible in your approach, completely reliable and always enthusiastic and positive.

Having a good working knowledge of the Early Years curriculum would be a great advantage. Empathy and an ability to establish good working relationships with staff, parents and pupils are essential.

Necessary Experience:

  • Formal qualification as a teaching assistant, QTS or experience in an Early Years setting
  • Good standard of education (GCSE English and Maths)
  • Strong ICT skills
  • The ability to take responsibility for small intervention groups and, on occasion, whole classes for short periods of time.

Desirable Experience:  

  • First Aid Qualification
  • Ability to run an after-school club
  • Proven artistic/display ability
