Job Summary:

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school's reception area while also providing crucial administrative support to our SEN department. This multifaceted role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Main Duties:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors to the school, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Operate entry intercom and oversee school signing-in procedures for visitors and students.
  • Manage switchboard, take messages, and handle routine inquiries efficiently.
  • Assist with sorting and distributing incoming post, maintaining accurate records as necessary.
  • Utilise Outlook to schedule meetings for staff and visitors, and manage the school office email account.
  • Support the SEN department with administrative tasks including Annual Review and Records of Outcomes processes, as well as data management.
  • Attend and actively participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Office Manager or Headteacher.

  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and mission statement of the Trust.
  • Participate in the school's appraisal process and engage in training and development activities as required.
