Chilmington Green Primary School are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our youngest children in the Nursery to start in September 2024. Our Facebook pages and Website are regularly updated and will give you an excellent idea of everyday life at Chilmington Green.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the EYFS team to deliver high-quality education and care to children within the EYFS setting at Chilmington Green school. Underpinning the children’s early development, we encourage their ability to communicate through high quality interactions.

We are seeking a dedicated individual with a minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education.  Candidates currently enrolled in a relevant training course will also be considered. All qualifications will be verified against the DFE approved EYFS Practitioner list.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the EYFS team to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment in the inside and outside classroom for young learners
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging activities to promote children’s individual development
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the well-being and progress of each child
  • Uphold the safeguarding and welfare of all children in line with school policies and procedures

 

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:

  • Recognise that our current education system needs to radically change to better prepare our young people for the 21st century
  • Are able to take advantage of the latest technology to support modern, 21st century learning
  • Want to develop their own practice to meet the needs of an evolving school system
  • Want to develop children as life-long, curious learners
  • Want to build strong relationships with children that facilitate their learning
  • Want to teach in enabling environments that promote flexibility, collaboration and independence

This role is:

  • Part-time term-time
  • Monday to Friday
  • 33.75 hrs per week (30 hours are offered on a permanent contract, the extra 3.75 hours are attached to the Early Years setting and will be reduced should you move to another year group)
  • Salary is KR3 (33.75hrs @ 43 paid weeks) will be approximately £17,022 pro rata

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly, currently standing at 260 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating at one form entry in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and will eventually allow two forms of entry, as 60 Year R pupils join the school each year. The school nursery has a dedicated space for children aged 2 - 4 years old. The school also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
