Chilton Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Teaching Assistant to join our collaborative and successful team.

Our Senior Teaching Assistants play a part in our TA team, supporting children, classes and teachers but they also cover teacher release time. This will be through regular timetabled afternoons but will also be arranged on a week-to-week (and sometimes day-to-day) basis according to need and any staff absence which needs cover.

The successful candidate will need to hold an HLTA qualification or be able to demonstrate recent and extensive experience of covering whole classes within a primary school setting. 

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident and skilled in leading whole classes for all curriculum lessons
• Is confident in managing behaviour successfully
• Understands how to adapt teaching and learning for different groups of children
• Can liaise effectively with teachers on planning and class arrangements
• Is a team-player
• Is flexible and adaptable in response to the needs of the school

The post is for 30 hours per week, term time only and is paid at KR6
