We're seeking a superstar for our friendly school to be a welcoming face and manager of our school office.  You must exemplify our school values of respect, kindness and determination by being calm, patient, positive and firm to our school community.

Do you enjoy working with a smile and getting things done? This role is all about creating a warm and professional first impression for everyone who visits our school – children, parents, staff, you name it!  That's why excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.  We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, who can be trusted with confidential information, and who approaches their work with professionalism.  Being organised and adaptable will be a big plus, as you'll be juggling different tasks while building strong relationships with everyone you meet.

You will be responsible for supporting school admissions, maintaining the Single Central Record, clerk to the Governing Body and managing other admin staff. There is also an element of electronic filing to support the HR department. While office experience is desirable, particularly in a school setting, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, as a full induction and training will be provided with ongoing support.  There will also be a full handover from the current post holder.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly, flexible and professional approach, particularly when under pressure.
  • Experience of working within an office environment, preferably a school setting. A good working knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of leading/managing a team and working collaboratively.
  • A working knowledge of Bromcom or similar School Management System is a significant advantage, although training and support will be provided to the suitable candidate.
  • The ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met and school communication is efficient.
  • You will have a kind manner, champion every child and take an active part in our amazing school.

Additional benefits include:

  • Excellent on site facilities;
  • Excellent CPD programme;
  • Local Government Pension Scheme;
  • Employee Assistance Programme;
  • Ride to Work Scheme;
  • Kent Rewards Scheme;

Please send in your application as soon as possible.  Applications will be reviewed as soon as we receive them even if this is prior to the application close date.

South Borough Primary School in Maidstone is currently a 2 form entry school with three classes in both Year 2 and 3. It became part of the Swale Academies Trust on 1st February 2015.

At South Borough Primary School we believe every child matters and is at the heart of all we do. We aim to ensure they can read, write and calculate effectively when they leave us. Together with that we aim to instill a sense of pride, tolerance, determination and perseverance to help them in all aspects of life. Good behaviour for learning is key for children to make good progress. We reward and practice this behaviour at school and our core values promote children to become supportive, honest children who are confident to take risks and persevere when the going gets tough.

The school received a ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement in 2018 and we continue to provide high quality education for all our learners.

We collaborate with other Trust schools, to ensure best practice is shared. We value our parents and have an active Friends of South Borough (FOSB) who regularly meet and organise events/functions/activities for our children.

We are proud to offer wrap around care from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm every day which is also available for the children of staff, should the need arise.
