Advert

We are looking to add experience of being an excellent classroom teacher, high levels of enthusiasm and a committed team player to our existing, supportive team of staff. Parkwood is on a journey of improvement towards being the very best school locally for children and their families. To do this, we know that investment in our most valuable resource, our staff, is crucial. We are currently working on a workload charter that is uncompromising with regards to high quality teaching, but it strives to give the due care and consideration our teachers' well-being deserves.

We want someone who has:

  • the ability to deploy high quality teaching strategies so children make progress.
  • a commitment to developing as a professional.
  • a strong desire to collaborate and work effectively as a team.
  • a strong belief that good relationships and positive behaviour management is key.

As a school, we can offer a supportive senior leadership team who value staff well-being. For the right candidate, we'd be willing to offer the opportunity of completing an NPQ. We are a National College School meaning that we are able to offer CPD on demand for ambitious teachers.

Information about the school

Parkwood are a local authority primary school in the heart of Parkwood, Rainham. We are proud of our inclusive and caring approach, where children can grow and flourish in a supportive environment, where they can be themselves. Everyone is welcome at Parkwood.

Our dedicated team of staff members invest heavily in building positive relationships with children and their families so that the children feel safe and cared for. Positive relationships are essential for learning to take place.

Each child deserves high quality teaching from us that engages and supports the needs of individual children to push them to achieve as highly as possible. This is exactly what Parkwood strives to offer each individual.

It is our expectation that children will go out into the world, and into their next steps in education, as responsible, resilient and kind people, and will be able to look back on their primary school days with pride and affection.

At Parkwood, our values underpin all that we do and are central to the ethos of our school. We expect all children and adults in our school to be responsible in their choices and actions; kind in the way they respond to those around them and honest with themselves and others. It is acknowledged that everyone’s learning journey presents different challenges; our adults and children are expected to be ambitious regardless of potential barriers and resilient in the face of adversity.

At Parkwood, we have adopted a ‘This is how we do it here..’ approach to behaviour.

Optimum learning takes place in a calm atmosphere where expectations are clear and routines are well-established and embedded. We have three fundamental rules at our school that we set our routines and expectations around.

We use Widgits (symbols) to communicate our expectations across the school site in a way that is clear and easy to understand for all learners.

We encourage our children to do the right thing by reinforcing they are part of our school community and that negative actions and negative words will have an impact on others around them. We want them to move beyond the school gates with skills that are transferable and welcomed in the local community and beyond.
