We are looking to appoint an Inclusion Assistant to join our experienced and friendly administration team. The successful candidate will have proven administration skills and a positive, organised and pro-active outlook.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the SENDCo, Additional SENDCo and Heads of School in delivering and managing the provision of special educational needs and learning support provision across the school. The Inclusion Assistant will need prioritising skills to triage the admin work within the Inclusion Office.

The hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 40 weeks per year annum (term time, INSETs plus one week in the school holidays as agreed with the Line Manager). The working hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 3.30pm Fridays with a daily thirty minute lunch break.

The pay is set at Kent Range 5 at £24,040 for a full-time position. The actual salary equates to £21,396 per annum pro rata. In addition the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade.

We require a good standard of general education and GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above.  Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence. Please do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.

A formal thirty minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of a member of the SLT and the Business Manager. Candidates will also undertake a thirty minute in-tray exercise.

Garlinge Primary School and Nursery continues to be a ‘Good’ school with an ‘Outstanding’ judgement in Personal Development, as recognised in our latest Ofsted inspection (November 2023). The inspection found that, ‘pupils behave and concentrate very well in this warm and inclusive school’ and that, ‘the school carefully considers staff workload and well-being.’

We are a large four form entry school to the west of Margate with approximately 775 pupils. We aim to provide a caring, exciting and inclusive learning environment where every child and family really matters with a focus on raising standards alongside the development of the whole child. The school’s values are Perseverance, Aspiration, Respect and Teamwork and all children are familiar with these.

We are a school with a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for Physically Disabled pupils, a KS1 and KS2 satellite class from Foreland Fields School and a further SRP for pupils with Autism.

We are a part of an established Cooperative Trust (Thanet Endeavour Learning Trust), working with Bromstone Primary School, Parkside Community Foundation Primary School and St Mildred’s Primary Infant School. We work closely within our Trust to improve all aspects of our practice, including CPD and support for ECTs.

Our large site comprises of a KS2 and a KS1 building, three large playgrounds and a school field and we continue to invest heavily in our outdoor learning environment which includes an inclusive play area and sports courts.
