Are you an experienced teaching assistant who wants to take the next step in your career?  We are looking for an HLTA to come and join our enthusastic and highly skilled team in making a difference to children's lives. We are looking for someone from September onwards.  

In this role, you will take responsiblity for agreed learning activities including regular PPA and leadership cover and other short term cover where appropriate.  This will involve preparing and delivering already planned lessons, possibly marking work under the guidance of the Class Teacher. When not covering, you will be working within a class with groups and individuals alongside other professionals to ensure rapid progress.

There may be the requirement to work across different year groups in the school, dependent upon the needs of the school.   

We don't require any qualifications for this role; all necessary training will be provided to the right candidate.  The right attitude and aptitude are far more important than qualifications.  Previous experience as a TA, teacher or instructor in school is essential.  

The role is 9:00 – 3:30 term time only, 39 weeks per year, although there may be some occasions where an 8:45 start may be required. There is a one hour unpaid lunchbreak and a quarter of an hour unpaid break.

Sandwich Junior is a two form entry school. We currently have 225 pupils on roll. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, which include two large playgrounds, a gardening area, outdoor music equipment, an Orchard and a full size Labyrinth to aid mindfulness and reflection. The school has a strong set of Core Values which underpin everything we do. Our location in the centre of Sandwich, Kent means we serve families from the town and the wider area. We received an Outstanding grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (May 2022).
