Candidates ideally based in Dover, Folkestone, Deal and surrounding areas.

Contracted hours between 15 - 20 hours per week (whatever suits you) and will be discussed at interview.  Ad hoc overtime may also be available.

KR4 starting at £23 338 (£12.10ph) plus allowance of £1442 (full time equivalent)

  • Drivers will be responsible for safely operate the school’s bus routes, collecting pupils from home and delivering them to school for an 8.30am start; collecting them from school at 3pm (Monday to Thursday) and 2pm Friday and dropping them home. You must be available for both the morning and afternoon runs and have emotional resilience and a good sense of humour.

The successful candidates must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
  • Hold a license (category B) for at least 12 months,

The license must not have:

  • More than 6 points
  • Have any drink/drive endorsements
  • Have a ban within the last 5 years
  • Have more than two current speeding endorsements

Elms is a special school for pupils with social, emotional, mental health and learning needs.

Elms School offers staff the following support:

Access to an on-site HR Advisor, who is also a Mental Health First Aider; Fortnightly Supervision for Teachers; Membership of Benenden Health Care; Access to Support Line Counselling; Menopause Support; SLT open door approach; Team Teach Training; Full Time DSL.

Our curriculum enriches the experiences of our students, develops independence and promotes collaboration. Our highly-trained staff provide bespoke therapeutic interventions, such as Thrive or Trauma Informed Practice, to address social emotional development and enable pupils to manage their behaviour and regulate their emotions so that they can form meaningful relationships throughout their lives. We teach our students how to regulate using the Zones of Regulation. We use Restorative Approaches to build and maintain a sense of community and to provide our pupils with the ability and attitude to respect the viewpoints of others and, when necessary, take responsibility for resolving conflict and putting things right.

In our Ofsted inspection in March 2023, Elms School continues to be a Good school.
