Advert

This role is a special opportunity. It is your chance to contribute to a remarkable community that cares deeply about our children. At Lady Joanna we want an expansive education for the children and one which supports learning for The Head, Heart and Hand. We are focused on developing strong pedagogy throughout all curriculum subjects and you will contribute to this, bringing your expertise and high-quality knowledge of teaching and learning across the curriculum.

We want our children to think critically and we want them to make a difference to the world around them. We are a Rights Respecting school and the difference that this makes goes beyond the school gates, making a positive impact on the whole community. The intention of the Rights Respecting curriculum is that:

§ Children are healthier and happier

§ Children feel safe

§ Children have better relationships

§ Children become active and involved in school life and the wider world

Our primary school is lucky to work with nine other schools in the CARE Foundation Trust and this provides a vibrant, learning community with many shared opportunities for development.

The successful candidate may be an existing leader, a newcomer or returner. What matters is the mindset.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning, early reading and creating exciting learning opportunities for all Key Stage 1 children. You may have had Early Years’ experience and know how to extend this into effective continuous provision in Key Stage 1.

In particular you will also be a curious, reflective thinker who knows there are different ways to achieve outcomes; someone who balances rigour with innovation. You will need to be someone who is comfortable dealing with complexity and embracing a diverse range of ideas, and who is able to bring clarity and a sense of identity to that thinking. Investing in others through coaching and mentoring will be at the heart of your leadership and you will be able to create a climate of enquiry, alongside collaboration.

You will be supported by a Governing Body which is committed to your professional development and a developing school culture which is based around being a ‘learning school’. We will support your individual learning pathway in the best way that we can.

If you are interested and think you can bring learning alive for our community, please get in touch to have an informal conversation and find out more. School visits will be held by appointment only with Headteacher. Please call the school office on 01233 812781 or email headteacher@ladyj.kent.sch.uk to either book a call or a visit.

The successful candidate will start in September 2024
