We are looking for someone who will:

  • Be responsible for the security of the school premises and grounds including opening and closing of the school daily.
  • Report breaches of security to the necessary authorities.
  • Be competent in carrying out day-to-day reactive repairs, compliance testing and maintenance work.
  • Liaise with all contractors visiting or working on the school grounds or premises.
  • Be responsible for maintaining safe and clean school premises and grounds.  
  • Undertake cleaning tasks. 
  • When required, to be flexible for the needs of the school and site.
  • Be adaptable and flexible for unexpected events should they arise.
  • Possible call outs as a main keyholder of the site.
  • Have a positive mindset and a good sense of humour.
  • Be a positive role model for the children of St Peter's. 
  • Be a good communicator and work well with team-members.

This is a temporary contract to cover staff absence, Monday - Friday, 7am - 11am paid at Kent Range 4 £21,389 (£11,561.64 pro rata). 

Some cleaning duties will be required.

St. Peter's Methodist Primary School is a Good (Ofsted 2018), one form entry voluntary controlled primary school located in the heart of Canterbury. The school enjoys a strong relationship with the Methodist Church and has been recognised as Outstanding in the June 2018 SIAMS inspection. We have the benefit of modern facilities and an attractive, well-planned playground and forest school area within a historic setting.
