Senior Teacher with SENCO responsibilities. Full time MPS/UPS with TLR.

Lydden Primary School are looking to recruit a senior teacher with SENCO responsibilities.

This permanent role will combine 2 days of class teaching and 3 days of non-class-based time in which to undertake the role of SENCO and as a senior teacher to support the Head of School in other duties.

  • Do you have experience of leadership beyond the classroom?

You don’t have to be a qualified SENCO to apply for this role! We will support you in achieving the National Award/ National Professional Qualification for SENCOs. You will also benefit from the experience and structured support of the SEN team across the Lydden and River Primary Schools Federation to ensure a smooth transition into the school. The SEN provision at Lydden is well established and a full handover will be given to the successful candidate.

We are seeking the right person to join our team. You should be experienced in supporting children with additional needs and should be confident in providing professional guidance to colleagues. You will be involved in the identification of children’s needs and appropriate provision. You will work with parents to ensure appropriate referrals are made and work with colleagues to monitor and review provision across the school. You will have an excellent grasp of written English and you will be able to talk confidently to parents and colleagues and maintain strong professional relationships with external agencies.

As a senior teacher you will support the Head of School in the day-to-day operation of the school. The responsibilities will be varied and require initiative and flexibility. Lydden Primary School is a small rural school with 79 children currently on roll. We have approximately 20% of the school population currently on the SEN register.

Lydden Primary School is a small rural village school catering for approximately 80 children between the ages of 4-11. Children learn in our four classes.
