We are seeking to recruit an effective individual, to join our successful and dedicated team of ASD specialist staff.

Our schools have an established specialist resource provision, where children make excellent progress and achieve highly. We are looking for a person who has the skills, and ambition to enable specific pupils to accomplish their learning and personal targets.

Working across the school, with the support of SRP and mainstream staff, the role is exactly suited to someone with the ability to use creative thinking to support children using personalised resources to learn and become as independent as possible.

This person will liaise closely with teachers and other support staff and so needs to have excellent communication skills.

The school team are very supportive and this career opportunity would offer training and a career that is aimed at developing outstanding practice.

Essential skills

  • The use of independent initiative when supporting pupils in the SRP.
  • The ability to work with a team in a responsive and flexible manner, responding to the instruction and advice of the SENCo, SRP team and class teachers.
  • Ability to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.
  • To share ideas for the adjustment of learning so that pupils with SEND know and remember more.
  • To build effective trusting relationships with the whole school team and link professionally with staff.
  • A willingness and interest in using CPD to further develop career.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of working with pupils with limited verbal communication who use alternative communication systems such as PECs or Makaton.

Information about the trust

Valley Invicta Academies Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, based in Maidstone, Kent.
