We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and exceptional Assistant Headteacher who will play a key role in an expanding and dynamic leadership team.  The successful candidate will provide vision, strategic direction and leadership for behaviour, pastoral and the quality of education across Key Stage 3 at Rainham Mark Grammar School.  This will include working supportively and cohesively with school and trust leaders and wider staff to ensure a rigorous, broad, rich and inclusive personal development offer to all our students.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement a vision for Rainham Mark Grammar School, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Professional Development Advocacy: Champion a culture of continuous professional growth and improvement among staff, leading by example through personal commitment to ongoing development.
  • Effective Resource Management: Provide strategic direction in resource allocation to optimise teaching quality and student achievement, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Line Management and Support: Offer guidance and support to department heads and year heads, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment conducive to professional growth and student success.
  • Safeguarding and Student Welfare: Serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students and provide leadership during key school events and assemblies, maintaining a visible presence to support the school community.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree qualification
