Early Years Foundation Stage Teacher (Part Time 0.4, 2 days a week)

We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join our wonderful EYFS team in a job share position (2 days a week) alongside an experienced colleague, on a permanent contract starting September 2024.

We are looking for someone that shares our ethos of growing and learning together, with the passion, creativity and energy to deliver a stimulating curriculum for our children that is both engaging, challenging and fun.

Ideally, you will have outstanding teaching experience of teaching in KS1 and EYFS and a clear understanding of how to support and nurture the development of young children. Proven experience of teaching synthetic phonics is essential as is the ability to enhance children's learning and development through both teacher directed sessions and child initiated activities in order to make informed observations which will identify next steps.

Our children are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to offer them an environment of opportunity and discovery through a rich and broad curriculum, with as wide a range of activities as possible. We have wonderful outdoor space which provides an excellent area for discovery. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who is able to nurture and inspire our children, and provide them with every opportunity to develop their full potential.

In return we can offer you a supportive and caring team of teachers, support staff and governors, led by a strong and visionary team of school leaders, who understand the importance of staff wellbeing. As a two form entry school, class teachers work with supportive year group partners who are well supported by Team Leaders. We have a great team at Godinton who work incredibly hard to bring out the very best in our children and in each other through nurture, support and understanding.

The closing date for applications is 16:00 on 26th April with interviews being held w/c 6th May. Further details will be provided to successful candidates. As part of the interview process candidates will also observed in a teaching activity.

Information about the school

Welcome to Godinton Primary School.

When you step inside our school, you will find an exciting environment of creativity and discovery, where children’s natural curiosity is stimulated and their capacity to learn is nurtured. We are very proud of our ethos, which provides a supportive, family atmosphere with an emphasis on ensuring that our children are happy and confident individuals who love coming to school.

At Godinton Primary School, our team works hard to provide every child with a well-rounded education, enabling them to reach their full potential and succeed wherever their strengths and skills may lie. We strive for academic excellence in our pupils but believe that this should be delivered alongside an enriching and creative curriculum.

We enjoy stand-alone Academy status and have been graded as GOOD by Ofsted at our last inspection (Feb 2024).

Tucked safely away on the Godinton Park Estate, its only when you step within the school gate that you can fully appreciate the school’s privileged outside space.

Our school grounds are both extensive and beautiful, stretching around the entire building and providing a wonderful natural backdrop. Children at Godinton benefit from vast playing fields, adventure play areas, two playgrounds and a thriving wildlife garden and environmental area. A broad area of woodland, also within the grounds, provides an inspiring space for curriculum enrichment, as a stimulus for poetry or creative writing or as the location for scientific nature trails.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, where you can see for yourself what a special place Godinton Primary School is.

Miss Jill Talbot

Headteacher
