Advert

"I love Cage Green and I know that Cage Green loves me," is what one of our children said during our recent, very succesful, Ofsted inspection.  If you understand why this is the absolutely best thing a child could say about us, you may be the right person to join our team.

We need a teaching assistant who thinks they can change the world.  Our teaching assistants aren't paint-pot pot washers; they are educators who make a huge difference to children's lives and futures.  You will be attached to a class in the morning where you will develop fun (and often hilarious) relationships with the children. The role will include teaching targetted groups of children, supporting the class teacher with day to day learning and working proactively as part of a team to ensure that each child meets their potential. We are looking for high calibre people with excellent English and maths skills who will be able to lead children’s learning confidently. In the first instance, the role is with KS2.

Prior experience as a teaching assistant is desirable, but not essential for a person who is keen to learn with a positive attitude.

The successful applicant must

  • Have good mathematics and English skills (Grade C or higher at GCSE or equivalent).
  • Have good behaviour management skills through previous experience with children in a setting other than their own home
  • Be able to communicate well with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Be willing to learn and develop skills to support children’s learning.
  • Be flexible and understand that plans change.
  • Be proactive in their approach to resources, plans and solving problems.
  • Have a commitment to the safeguarding of children.
  • Be punctual, conscientious and put children’s needs first.

Early applications are encouraged and Cage Green Primary School reserves the right to close the vacancy if a suitable candidate is found.  Previous applicants need not apply.  When filling in your personal statement, please ensure that you address how your knowledge, skills and experience meet the requirements in the bullet points above.

If you would like to know more about us, the role, or would like to arrange a tour of the school before you apply, please speak to Vicki Maher, our Assistant Headteacher on 01732 354325.

Invitations to interview will be sent via email. Please ensure that the email address provided on the applicaiton form is up to date and monitored regularly. Failure to respond to an invitation will preclude a further offer.

Curriculum Vitae are NOT accepted as an alternative to a completed application form, if you have not been invited to an interview within two weeks of the closing date please consider your application was unsuccessful.
