Head of History

at Walderslade and Greenacre Schools Partnership

Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2A 

Required: September 2024

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Plus a one off joining bonus of £2,000, paid in twelve monthly instalments*

We are seeking and experienced and passionate Head of History to lead our History department and drive excellence in teaching and learning.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding results and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the department and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
  • Developing and implanting a strategic vision for History that aligns with the Trust goals and objectives.
  • Managing and developing a team of talented teachers
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress and ensuring that interventions are put in place where necessary
  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers and other stakeholders to promote a culture of excellence and achievement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in History or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for History
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A commitment to raising standards and achieving excellence.
