Richmond Primary School are looking to appoint a SENDCo.  A pre-September 2024 start would be preferable, although we would be prepared to wait until September 2024 for the right candidate!

We are seeking applicants with previous experience and who have completed the National Award for SEN Coordination. They should also have demonstrated outstanding practice when in role as a classroom teacher with experience of working with children with additional needs. We will consider applicants who are currently working towards the National Award or experienced teachers who wish to start this.

The successful candidate will benefit from working collaboratively with the other experienced Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinators in the Trust and be part of an inspirational and creative team working within Richmond.

This strategic role will include leading, developing and supporting effective practice for children with special and additional needs. There will be a heavy focus on developing teachers to provide ‘quality first’ teaching, supporting teachers to remove barriers to learning and early identification of special need.

In addition to supporting class teachers, the SENDCo will have responsibility for leading on Annual Review meetings and statutory EHCP paperwork.

Please see the attached person specifications for more details about the skills and qualities we are looking for in our ideal candidate
