Early Years Teaching Assistant – 20 hours per week (term time only)

Pay Scale: NJC Scale D2 (£23,114 - £25,979 pro rata)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and Level 3 qualified Early Years practitioner for our school Nursery class from Monday 15th April (a later start date can be negotiated for the right candidate). Hours would be Monday to Wednesday mornings and all day on Thursdays and Fridays (current working pattern, although may change on an annual basis).

As a skilled Early Years Practitioner, you will work as part of our Nursery team to provide a high standard of learning, development and care for our 3 and 4 year olds in Caterpillars class.

Some key responsibilities are:

  • Planning and providing a caring and stimulating environment for the children;
  • Observing and assessing children’s development and keeping accurate records;
  • Working as part of a team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (please refer to DfE guidance if you are unsure whether your qualification is considered full and relevant);
  • Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum;
  • Understanding of the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children and commitment to child welfare and safety.
